Vetiver essential oil is a rich and earthy aroma, it’s made from roots of Vetiver grass. Vetiver essential oil is called “Oil of Tranquility” in some parts of the world because of how calming it is to your nervous system.

Lavender essential oil is a balancing oil, it’s nourishing, supportive and uplifting, plus it smells so good!

Grapefruit essential oil is a burst of energy, and it’s great when you are trying to come back to yourself!

Here’s how to make Aromatherapy Calm Energy Oil:

First, add the Jojoba oil to the glass bottle, then slowly drop in each essential oil. Whenever you need some calming energy, just rub some of this oil onto your shoulders, chest, feet or wherever you need to relieve tension!

  1. Can you use another carrier oil I don’t have any jojoba

    1. Yes you can Lin! You can substitute Jojoba with any carrier you love most!

  2. How is she talking about calming stuff with that crazy red and orange painted walls ?? That’s makes me anxious . Those are not calming colors those give me a headache .

    1. Hi Jonny! I appreciate how the colors feel overwhelming for you. I am one of those people that love bright happy colors – for me, red brings feelings of love and comfort, and orange brings feelings of excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth.
I think the Calm Energy Oil blend could be a great match for you! I would love to hear back from you about your experience with it!

  3. Hi what would I substitute lavender with?

    1. Any floral aroma you find calming would be lovely!

  6. Good morning, Andrea,

We have two male neutered cats who have lived together for 12 years, but one of them has aggression toward the other (stalking, chasing, guarding the litter box). We have tried various approaches with only fair success. Today I had the thought that perhaps a catnip EO would be helpful?

If you have any suggestions regarding this or any other EO I would be very grateful!

    1. HI Julia! Animals can be sensitive and it is good to be aware of that when working with oils. At Aromahead, we don’t teach the use of essential oils on animals. Our recommendation is not to use essential oils directly on the fur or skin of small animals. For more information on this topic, I would suggest reaching out to Kelly Holland Azzaro at Ashi Aromatherapy – http://www.ashitherapy.com

  7. This amount of grapefruit oil okay during summer time? I hear mixed information about its photo toxicity.

    1. Great question Soulful Lab!! While it’s true that Grapefruit is phototoxic, you are correct, the dilution in this blend is low enough. Phototoxic reactions with Grapefruit essential oil becomes a concern when the number of drops exceeds 24 drops in 1 oz of carrier. The amount of Grapefruit is not significant enough , however, if you prefer you can always use Orange in its place.

Phototoxicity is such an important topic, I’ve written about that on the Aromahead blog. Here’s a link where you can read more:

  8. Hi Andrea, how many drops should i use in a 10 mil bottle?

    1. Hannah Lovee I may use 4-6 drops of essential oils in a 10ml roll on bottle.  As is often the case, the number of drops of each oil from a 30ml blend doesn’t divide evenly for a 10ml.   So in that case I like to make the 1oz blend and use that to fill & refill a 10ml bottle.

  9. What is the oil brand You Are using

    1. My main criteria when I buy oils is that the company imports directly from the distiller, every batch of oil is tested with GC/MS, there are stock numbers on each label so we can refer to batch specific GC/MS reports, and the company knows when each batch was distilled (the season and year). There are many wonderful companies. I was using oils from Aromatics.com in this video.

  10. Hey Andrea,
I wanted to ask you what your thoughts are on some topics about essential oils, I have learned not to casually ingest oils unless under guidance of a professional and not to apply neat, yet I hear and see MLM brand people promote ingestion and neat application. It’s so confusing seeing so many different views and not knowing what is in fact healthy? I couldn’t find a email to email you. So sorry this is off topic of this video, I trust you and was hoping you could shed some light on this for me.

    1. Hi Cristy, it can be confusing with so much conflicting information. You can email me at Andrea@aromahead.com

  11. Hi Andrea! I have recently discovered your channel and I 💗it! Your generosity and kindness are palpable. Thank you! Love this oil mix. I mixed the essential oils in a diffuser before going to bed and absolutely loved it! Thank you!

    1. That is very sweet of you to say, Sigal. Thank you. I’m so happy that you love this blend. I do too!

  12. I Love vetiver it’s my favorite oil I love it alone even. It’s fantastic

  13. Sounds like a wonderful blend. Can’t wait to try. Love your videos and your newsletters. I was just wondering what brand oils do you use or are they your own line of oils? Thank you for all you do.☺️

I’m so glad you like this blend and my videos. I don’t sell a line of oils. 14. Just ordered the veliver. I am so glad to know about an eos can help keep me grounded. I retired from nursing after 46 yrs. I start to do something and leave that and do something else and later wonder what I was doing. Work in the garden wonder why my seeds aren’t sprouting. Can’t remember did I even plant the seeds? I have fibro fog that I work hard at listening to my body.Just need to grounded before I walk away from the stove or something.I use a lot of eos because of you. Thank you so much.

    1. Oh, Barbara, vetiver is so very grounding and I would love to hear what you think when you get your oil! There are many oils that can help with concentration too.

  15. I love Vetiver!! Can I use fractionated coconut oil? I don’t have jojoba oil.

    1. You can, Brenda! Coconut oil is a fine substitute for jojoba :o)

  16. Absolutely gorgeous blend, thank you Andrea 💞 💞 💞 💞

  17. Oh my gosh, Andrea, I love this. I am in your ACP and Teachers Training class among lots of others. I didn’t care for Vetiver at first, but over the last 3 months have fallen in love with it. I love all that you do

    1. The downside is my husband hates the smell. I love body butters with Vetiver. When I use a body body with Vetiver in it, and teach my fitness classes, the smell of Vetiver surrounds me when I sweat. I feel so grounded when I use it and it makes me happy

  18. Great video as always, Andrea. The app does have so many great recipes!

    1. Thank you , Emily.

  19. What a gorgeous blend. Can’t wait to try it! And I LOVE that you included options for where to apply. I find that is such a big question for some folks!

  20. You are wonderful, why do you have a large bottle of Jojoba oil? Do you use it alot?

    1. I do use a lot of jojoba, Yvonne. I find buying it in larger sizes is cost effective and jojoba oil has a long shelf life, so there is little worry about it going rancid.
