Quick & Easy Shower Steamers

ask anyone I know and they’ll tell you how crazy I am about essential oils. I began getting into them about a year and a half ago, I moved out of my home and was having trouble sleeping in my new place. I generally get anxiety so the move definitely triggered my anxious side. I was up all night, heart racing, waking up every morning miserable and feeling even worse from the restless nights. Thats when I discovered essential oils, I purchased a tiny defuser and ran ylang ylang oil every night – and it worked! I was finally getting some rest and feeling a little more relaxed. When I realized all the wonders of essential oils, I began to wonder what the benefits were of all the other oils out there and I was blown away. Aromatherapy can help with a wide variety of illnesses and ailments.

Recently, I discovered shower steamers, a tiny pod that you can throw into your shower (either on your shower ledge or at the bottom of your tub) that will slowly dissolve with the steam of your shower and fill the bathroom with sweet aroma of whatever oils you choose to put into it. Aromatherapy baths have been around for centuries, this DIY project is an easy way to gain the benefits of an aromatherapy bath without any hassle. Not to mention, they’re completely non toxic, no worries having them around any little ones. In fact, if you have a restless kid, why not try giving them a shower with a lavendar infused steamer before bed time?

I hope you guys enjoy this video, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel for more!

  1. Love the starfish garland on tree.

  2. I will make this for sure

  3. So question shower in the morning do u take a bath at night

  4. Preheat oven 325 f

    1c baking soda
    1/3 water
    Mix to paste

Fill cup cake liners half way
Put in the oven for 15 minutes
When tapping the top it should be soft but kinda hard
    Drop scents over top
    Pop in fridge 30 minutes
    Shrink wrap
    Store in the fridge

  5. You don’t burn essential oils??

  6. What’s the oil called and brand

  7. Never saw them made using oven technique.i’m going to try some..they are great stocking stuffers.

  8. oven temperature?

    1. She said 325

  9. Thanks for sharing this. May i ask the purpose of putting these in oven ? Couldnt you just add the essential oils in the bowl and put the cupcakes in the fridge/freezer

  10. Video starts at 2:11

    1. God bless you

  11. These aren’t going to activate and fizz which is the action that helps spread the aroma therapy scents into the air for your olfactory enjoyment. I have only been in to this for a few weeks but this is the first shower or bath bomb recipe I have come across that omits the citric acid ingredient that is needed to set off the baking soda in the presence of H2O. Without the acid these are just going to melt and wash the essential oils down the drain for the most part. But then again…what do I know?

    1. James Hudak hi James! You’re right, these don’t fizz. instead of putting them in a bath, I put them in the shower. The puck slowly evaporates and gives off the scent of my chosen essential oil. Since these are for the shower rather than the bath, I figured the fizzing wouldn’t be necessary

  12. 3 feet of saran wrap for 1 pod???

    1. Why be so bitchy and negative you did not have to post that ughh. …🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️smh . . .some ppl????

    2. I may have overestimated how much I needed 🙈

  13. Would have liked to have seen the shower steamer activated in the shower! 😊 I’ve seen these types of videos where the steamers were activated in the shower but they didn’t appear to melt very well. Do these melt fairly well or hardly at all? Thanks for the video! 😊

  14. Thank you!!!!

  15. How long do they last in fridge? Great video 👍🏆

    1. If packaged properly, I would say about a week or two!

  16. Never Ever put any Essential Oil directly on skin!

    1. @Hailey BStinson this is not true for all oils at all

    2. You suggested putting EO on your forehead in the video. Peppermint is one to be avoided for pregnant women! but should never be put directly on the forehead of anyone! But I will let you do your own research

    3. Hi Hailey! I completely agree, essential oils should never be put on your skin. That’s something I learned recently, but these pods don’t come in contact with the skin and instead dissolve in the shower & give off a great scent!

  17. I love this!

  18. Omg I love your eyebrows❤️❤️

  19. Never use undiluted essential oils. 2 drops per oz of carrier oil. Most are photo sensitive

    1. this is not for topical use… carrier oils would be wasted and inhaled oils are not a concern for photosensitivity.

  20. Is it 15 minutes in the oven or 50 minutes? I did 15 and then I put in the fridge for 1 hour and they are still soft and breaking .. what did I do wrong?

    1. Use this recipe in a bowl and use a sifter. 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup citric acid and a tablespoon of cream of tartar and slowly add a teaspoon of water slowly until you get a wet sand consistency and add 5 drops of peppermint for sinus or use lavender essential oil for bed time streamers. If you can hold the mixer in a ball and drop it in the bowl it’s the right consistency if it doesn’t break. Use a mold and pack it in and sprits the bottom with water. Let sit in the mold until it’s hard, pop out and let sit out for 24 hours to dry, store them in a airtight container. Using just baking soda will not give you a shower streamer and it won’t give you fizz like citric acid does. And don’t waste your time baking anything. 🙂 hope this helps

    2. Every oven is different, if you find that they’re not settled after 15 mins, stick then back in the oven for 5-10 mins until it feels like the top is is hard

  21. LOVE YOU

  22. Well this was just amazing! I mean… of course it was… it’s your video! 😉 xx

  23. Oh my gosh, THANK YOU! I don’t do baths and always take showers but I love the idea of relaxing and using essential oils.

    1. im so glad you liked this, thanks for watching!!
