  2. I recently purchased a junk guitar. The fretboards are clean and its just a bit dry, is there anything else we can use to oil the fretboards or something? How about olive oil? Thanks!

    1. @dr-nerd hehe i was able to acquire everything but the fretboard oil so i just didnt do anything on the fretboard …for now. I was thinking of buying the actual oil. Thanks for the reply!

Ah by the way the guitar looked better. The waterless carwash thingy really worked wonders!

    2. Not that I know of. I wouldn’t use anything intended for cooking as it may go bad and smell. Just stick to oils meant for finishing wood

  3. Do paper towels work?

  4. This was a very helpful video my guitar always gets so smudged just because of how i play when i play single strings and yeah great video also ill give all of you people in the comments a little tip so if you have moist towelettes from restaurants on hand you can use those as a temporary polish dont use it if you want your guitar to have a shine for a long time only use the moist towelettes if you’re looking to put it in a case for displaying and not playing and moist towelettes work really well you absolutely do need a micro fiber cloth to get all the moist towelette water and it shines it pretty well OFCOURSE if you have a signed guitar dont clean it this way or even if it was owned by a famous person and its not signed dont use the moist towelette method and this is mainly for acoustic guitars it isn’t that great for electric guitars but if you’re looking to clean an accustic a tiny bit you can use moist towelettes

    1. @dr-nerd lol yeah restaurants are only just starting to open up because they’re letting them open so they can stay in business

    2. Thanks so much for sharing your tip/trick, I’ll be on the look out for some towelettes now… well not at the mo… restaurants are a no go!

  5. I really like the different ways of cleaning the fret board 🙂

    1. I was amazed by this stuff, it came out looking amazing!

  6. The end result is awesome. I love to strip guitars apart and give em a complete cleaning, polishing job ( up to the smallest part). You’re right, just plain household work cleaning stuff works great. No need to spend fortunes.

    1. Just stripped my SG apart (made from a Harvey Benton kit). Still had some seventies vintage electronics hanging around (neck pup and controls). The headstock will get a Gibson type finish. Body is gonna be slightly sanded down (the burgundy dye and tru oil are now fully cured) and then polish it with turtle wax.

    2. Absolutly, as long as people dont use anything dumb like a strong solvent, then there is really no reason not to use normal cleaning items!

  7. Loved this video, been looking for cheaper ways to clean my guitar for ages. Sadly i dont have any of the oil you used on the fingerboard or carwax but i have almost a full bottle of lemon oil anyways.

    1. Cant go too far wrong with lemon oil, its lovely stuff! Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!

  8. Oh , by the way I love the fact that you’re supporting all of us from your youtube channel . You’re awesome

    1. No probs Flavius, theres plenty more to come! 😃

    1. I have a plan coming together for what to do with the Encore, I think I’ll start with a full setup before changing loads of stuff very soon! 😃

  10. Be honest now! How many screws went in that drain?

    1. Ha, thankfully none, but its only a 4inch deep drain anyway, so I could have fished them out if needed! 😃
