  1. After spraying the mixture, is there anything wrong if we use Vacuum cleaner?

  2. A professional way to do it at home, hot water and salt boiled mix with vinegar on a spray bottle to disinfect both sides, Rinse & Let dry. next mix alcohol and baking soda in a spray bottle damp rug both sides, Rinse with water then shampoo the rug with your favorite aroma scent. I been doing this for years since 1987 the old way. There’s no need for chemicals in cleaning. DO IT THE SAFE WAY.

    1. Placido Aguilar but does it remove mildew smell?

  3. What happens when you sleep through chemistry class and end up cleaning carpets…

  4. How many teaspoons of baking soda exactly??…a couple could be 3 or 4, or 5….

    1. A couple has always meant 2, when I went to school!

    2. It doesn’t matter because baking soda and vinegar turn into water when mixed.

    3. @X Third Eye X bitch i’ve heard of it before but a couple means 2

    4. @afgzee Really? Have u ever heard the phrase, “a couple of people”?…meaning it might not even be an actual couple that’s dating.

Most times it’s used when referencing more then 2 people.

    5. a couple means 2. not 5. When you have a couple sitting together there are not 5 people in the couple

  5. It clogged my sprayer…what now?

    1. Mine too

  6. If you mix vinegar and baking soda in a closed container/bottle it can explode. The fizzing when you mix the two (just in general) is the acid based reaction and then afterwards it just carbon dioxide gas and water. Using them separately is most effective.

    1. Exactly. This is the recipe for a science fair volcano project! Shit could get real, and fast. Lol.

  7. It’s baking soda not baking powder….he keep saying it!

  8. Ya he don’t know which one or he wouldn’t be saying baking powder then saying baking soda, so which is it ? Gezzz learn your products if your going to give advice

  9. Thanks!

  10. could I just mist the mixture around, let dry, then vacuum? in place of other products like Febreze? I have used vinegar to clean dog urine off vinyl, works well.

  11. Like someone else already mentioned, the baking soda neutralizes the acid in the vinegar and basically turns it into water. You are spraying your carpet with water (or water with some left over baking soda in it). Either will “clean” and baking soda is known to remove odors but the vinegar is useless here and anybody that touts this mixture should be avoided because they have no idea what they’re doing.

  12. Baking soda = alkali Vinegar = acid
    Acid + alkali —> CO2 + water
Cleaning carpet with water and some air bubbles

  13. Do u just leave it after u spray it?

  14. WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING BAKING POWDER? BAKING SODA AND BAKING POWDER ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT….

    1. Abigail guys trying to be helpful, you’re not…

    2. @xinic5 haha. Hardly like dems and reps.

    3. like Sweet potatos and yams…. Or possums and opossums or Democrats and Republicans….

    4. +Abigail F. bless up.. I was just about to comment the same thing

  15. Thank you soo much. My daughter vomitted all through her bed and the carpet and the smell was unbearable. This solution worked quickly the odor vanished almost instantly and took no time at all. Definitely keeping this one in my cleaning book!!!

  16.   You said use baking SODA, AND you said baking POWDER.  They are NOT the same thing.  I believe you intended to say baking soda.  Soda is the one that does the odor removing. Not sure what would happen if the powder was used!

  17. Yes, looking for info on how to clean the entire room with stains and human urine odors. Had a Alzheimer’s family member staying in room and odor is really bad, but not sure how to mix for the entire room. Whether to mix and put in machine or put directly on carpet then use macine with vinegar and water or just vinegar? Help!

  18. my question, too, Thomas. I am involved in animal rescue and have six (yes, that’s right. WTF….I know….but, anyhow. I was ill recently and unable to stay up with my pet-related responsibilites and now am overwhelmed by what has permeated my home, i.e., capet, furniture and starting to permeate my clothing….so, like, can, indeed this formula be used and EFFECTIVE in a steam carpet cleaner???????? HELP!!!!!

  19. can you use it in a carpet cleaner

  20. you only give tips for small spots. nobody needs thar we need recipes for larger area carpet cleaning
