RV Washing With Household Cleaners, Tips Tricks Hacks, Bonus Footage

Loading ....

in this video I wash an RV that is over 3 years old and has never been washed before. This RV hits the road at least once a month, even in the winter. I use only typical household cleaners, see the results! Stick around for bonus footage, you will like it! This is a small travel trailer but will work on any size and age

  1. is there a way to fix sun oxidation on that type of trailer??

    1. Drone & Video -AZ. Great question. Wished I had an answer. I wash mine with powder dish washing detergent. Seems to brighten it up. I wash once a year. I’m sure if I washed it more often I’d have better results

  2. I’ve watch DOZENS of cleaning RV videos, and I HAVE to try this formula on my camper.

  3. I love the bonus!!!!!

  4. Looks so good! Still to this day there is nothing out there to get the water draining off.

    1. those black streaks are so stubborn, I need to wash again

  5. I have a 2003 coachmen and it has black streaks as well as a just dingy looking siding altogether. It wasn’t very well taken care of by the previous owner. The only thing I’ve found to take it off was metal polish. Being that it’s 26 ft long I really don’t want to hand polish the whole thing. I’ve tried everything to get it off. I’ve tried super clean and LA’s totally awesome. Which someone made a YouTube video of LA’s totally awesome and cleaning a camper. It doesn’t take it off. Hopefully this mix works. Thanks for the video.

    1. Paul Kelsey did it work for you?

  6. Call RV Roof Install in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga, they replace RV roofs with 60 mil commercial grade rubber roofs!!

  7. 5:51 is this why you shouldn’t wait 3 years to wash your RV. Smh
I would wash this every other week.

  8. OUTSTANDING!
    thanks.

  9. Bonus footage is great!! Good video thanks

  10. Pump sprayer / water / bleach / Dawn… Spray and walk away…. Come back and rinse with water drinking a beer… Works with zero effort and your drinking a cold brewski… It’s that simple… Repeat if necessary… !!!

  11. Love that bonus footage.  I need to do that to one of mine.  🙂

  12. thumbs up

  13. Wow! Impressive! Thanks for sharing!

    1. thanks!

  15. seriously, just get to the point!

  16. Hello Dave. Well, I have officially started the repair and remodel of the 30ft dutchmen I got from a friend. Yesterday I cleared everything from the slideout and up came the carpet. Glad they had carpet on the floor or I would have fell through the rotted OSB floor, LOL. Its going to be a challenging yet fun project. Im going to do it in sections, as in 1st the slide, 2nd the front wall and structure and erd the resealing of the completr unit which will include the roof of course but have also decided to remove and reseal all windows. May take me some time as I move slow due to recovering from the cancer but the end project will be well worth it. Oh, BTW, you did an excellant fix to the hose end sprayer. I still use the little twist on and off brass straight ones. Cant beat em! Keep the videos coming friend, you are a natural…..

    1. Best of luck on the restoration. Take lots of photos. It will be fun and a nightmare all in one,,,LOl, thanks for great comments.

  17. I’m laughing… You said ” in a circular motion just like when you brush your teeth”. I wonder how many people heard that and had no clue what you were talking about.?.?. Lol
Like the bonus footage. Great advice. 😁

  18. That’s a cute trailer! Do a video on a little one like this one! I basically need a place to sleep, cook, and bathe, and a little room for clothes and utensils. That’s it. Not like I’m gonna hang out in it.

    1. I felt same as you, but I wished mine was 18′, its only 14′. The issue I run into is rainy days it gets a little tight quarters, for me and a little dog. Mine does not have a dinette so the bed is all I have,,, well there is a couch, but its horribly uncomfortable.

  19. Good info! 👍

  20. GREAT! Wonderful advice and a way to save a buck. Your bonus footage advice is really valuable as well! I’ve used similar scientific methods my self on many occasions in fixing things myself. The scientific solutions always work great I find! Have a good one. John

    1. JOHN SPURLING using the hammer method sure does make one feel great afterwards. lol.

  21. You didn’t show us the final results on the roof.

  22. Excellent Bonus Footage. Straight to the point!

  23. LOL! YEP that fixed the sprayer good. Why I didnt think of doing the same, idk! Your trailer looks great and appreciate the product line used. Happy Trails. Jp

    1. Thanks Janice. I don’t know why I didn’t kill the sprayer before

  24. Great video. Gotta try the dishwasher detergent and the trick to fixing water sprayer. Catching up on your videos really enjoy them. What program do you use to edit your videos?

    1. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! Any video 2 months or older I used VSDC which was free to download. I now use my iPhone which is so much easier. I am still learning about editing and adding music etc.

  25. I have a forty two foot camper and had the same thing happen to me and i grabed the hose and slamed it down on the gravel about twenty times and about that time my father inlaw came out of no where and was standing there looking at me.

  26. Dawn! That stuff works great.

  27. I don’t know if you ever heard of LA Awsome but it is a cleaner that you can get at any dollar store, Family Dollar, Dollar General etc. Its real cheap and works really good. It comes in half gallons, quart bottles and pint size spray bottles. I use it and some of those magic erasers to clean the black streaks off mu RV. I use it on the tires and wheels too.

    1. Used it on my metal side camper and diluted it and all it did was make white streaks as it rand down the side as I was scrubbing the side, and rinsed it fast and still streaked.

    2. great advice!! Will look for it and try it out. Thanks for watching and advice

  29. Ready for some camping now! Great video.

    1. Soon I hope to redo the roof, and we are trying to decide if we want to add solar while doing the roof work. Your comments are always positive, we appreciate it!!

  30. Hammer Time! You made me laugh.

    1. thanks!!! It was a rather Gallagher moment. Thanks for watching

  31. Excellent explanation. This has inspired me to do the same with my trailer. Thanks for outlining the process. Hilarious bonus footage!

    1. Openroad 44 thanks for watching and your positive comment.

  32. Never would’ve thought of using that to clean an RV with. Better than buying RV cleaner for $8 a bottle. Probably the same stuff. love your channel, you guys are my favorite. Bonus footage, as always worth the wait. Hope to see y’all on the road sometime in our travels!!

  33. No injuries were sustained during bonus footage.

    1. I liked the repair tip, thanks! 😂
