  2. What I supplement. Always magnesium, acerela powder, d3. Copper if I don’t eat liver (normally as pate or few raw in tartare). K2 if I don’t eat fermented food (rare normally when not at home). Iodine and krill oil when I don’t eat fish. Iodine also if I see something wrong on skin. Sometime I use spore probiotics with enzymes. When I eat coocked food I add collagen gelatin to enhance digestion. Now, can I ask this beautuful and wise girl a video on Vitamin C (including supplements)? It’s not so easy I tried with fish roe but not getting enough. Due to covid I can’t order raw milk so acerola is my best choice. But it’s not cheap. Yes and it’s plant food but my diet is not a cult. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜˜

  12. People need to be open minded regarding some vitamin deficiency on a carnivore diet . It does happen , not for all people , but you may have a imbalance from previous eating , or have a digestive disorder ( that you are trying to heal ) , which may effect what you can absorb . Check out videos from EO nutrition or others …..dont assume that the carnivore diet is the silver bullet for all ……Its the same as thinking the vegan diet is perfect for all …when you look into Oxalate overloading (from eating spinach/sweet potatoes /Chocolate etc ) …..you realize being too dogmatic can lead you into nutritional difficulties ( look up videos from Sally K Norton ) …….Be open , there is no team to join ….just try to find what works for you ….cheers

  23. Scurvy was “discovered” after sailors’ bones and teeth deteriorated on a diet of mostly GRAINs. When they ate oranges or sauerkraut (vit c) they improved.

    it’s very possible that scurvy is not actually a vit c deficiency, but that vitamin C simply lessons the massive harm done by toxic grains.

    But grains are the cheapest “food” to mass produce, so it’s much more convenient for the public to believe grains are fine, and scurvy is a vit c deficiency.

      But that aside, there is some vitamin C in muscle meat as well. And there are people who have been doing carnivore 10+ years and not eaten organs. And virtually no one has experienced signs of scurvy.

      So I think the issue is more with our lack of understanding of vitamin C more than anything else ๐Ÿค”

  43. people on carnivore tend to duck the most critical element of such a diet, thus eliminating the lions share of the nutrition. Organ meats and bone broth. Liver, kidney, heart etc. Better than vitamins and supplements. Just make sure its an organic grass fed and finished source and you’re all set. Its a simple diet, done fk it up with add-ons.

Vitamin C and glucose compete for glucose transporters so as long as your diet is void of or low in carbs and sugar then your bodies up take of vitamin C will be higher without the need for higher amounts in the diet. Basically when you’re carnivore you use vitamin C more efficiently than others

  64. Iโ€™ve seen no Leto or carnivore dieters with signs of scurvy. Iโ€™ve seen a lot of vegans, especially frutarians, who have clear signs of scurvy, particularly degeneration of their connective tissues in the face and shrinking gums.

  65. I buy calf liver frozen and they are 113 grams apiece. I cut them in half and use one at a time. I chop them into little, little pieces and then mix into 12 ounces of beef. I make two burger patties out of that and then fry. I top with cheese, no sugar ketchup, mayo, and pickles. You get the liver and not the taste!

  76. How would you compare liver capsules to multivitamins? I’ve been considering taking a multi but I understand they’re essentially outdated and may not provide much benefit if any. Asking because I have a chronic condition that leaves me with low appetite so I don’t always eat enough and fluctuate weight a lot.

  77. There is no nutrient that you canโ€™t get from animal products without supplementation. You need liver. So if you donโ€™t like liver, you can take a liver supplement (I personally love liver). That said, a liver supplement is at least a whole-food supplement.

    When one cuts up liver into tiny pieces and freeze… Is it left raw? Or is it cooked tiny bits? Thanks! This could be an option for me. I always hated liver as a kid, tried it as an adult and still hate it. I do like liverwurst though.

      oh my, I don’t think I’m ready for that! How can I be sure it’s safe? I am unaware of local suppliers of acceptable raw meat… All I can get is previously frozen liver from the grocery… In your opinion, would having tiny pieces of cooked and then frozen liver (sort of like making little cooked supplement pills to take later, lol) an option for me? I have an amazing ability to turn off my taste buds and gag reflex to the point that I would be able to eat this, lol But I can’t seem to do it for an entire piece of liver on my plate)

      BTW, Love the video, but the quick flashes of text on the screen were too hard for me to catch on my device! I could not pause and find them fast enough, lol. Please leave them on longer next time? ๐Ÿ™‚

  94. I detest organ meats, because my cat used to eat a lot of liver and now I feel like I’m about to eat cat food or something ๐Ÿ˜€ Capsules are my way to go, I just hope they absorb nicely. I live in Poland, so I can’t say anything about brands you are recommending, but we have something called Swanson and they sell both liver capsules and cod liver oil, so I hope it will work out well.

    2. @Thorazine 007 Thanks! They seem to like chicken liver, but not beef liver. Last week I gave one of my cats a piece of kidney..he had to vomit after..but at least they eat raw chicken liver. Well, good because they are cheap.

    3. @Angie Schneider lol domesticated cats are spoiled, you have to mix little chopped pieces in with wet food and add more in as you go until they become acustomed to it. It’s like raising most kids on yummy fast food, try to get them on a healthy diet and they won’t eat it.

    1. Hard to say definitively. If you’re feeling good, no low energy, muscles cramps, etc. then no need to adjust.

    1. fructose is terrible for our livers. and I miss oranges , most of all fruit. I get my C from animal based sources. I no longer damage my liver via fruit intake.

    1. Jo Pearson the meat on the ship was old as they sailed I read vitamin c dissipates fast and fresher meat has more. So maybe on a long journey the meat was still good but vitamin c was no longer in it?

A down regulation of Insulin and Carbohydrate metabolism makes you require around %70-80 something percent less Vitamin C . and add in the fact that fresh /raw to blue rare animal products especially the brain ,the thymus/thyroid ,ovaries ,esticles and eyes of the animal Having more than the required amounts of Vitamin C on an a almost Zero to very ฤฑnsignificantly low Carb ketosis promoting diet. and ketpnes also spare these nutrients ;Donโ€™t forget the crazy amounts of Vitamin C on Raw Milk and shellfish such as *Mussels* for even moderate carb diets.

    4. @Jo Pearson Brits got scurvy on ships cause of no fresh food, I believe. Fresh meat actually has some vitamin c, especially liver, I think.

    5. But the Brits did on ships (back in the day when they also ate more meat than now) so ethnic genetics must play a roll. Other Aboriginal populations here in Canada that lived below the arctic and subarctic would make pine needle and or rosehip tea/soup in winter months which is high in vit c. They did the same in Scandinavian countries. They must have needed it. In arctic regions they get blueberries a bit each year and some rosehips but many would have been in areas where there were little to none so I assume they evolved to not need it the same as other populations. I often wonder if us all having access to things we didn’t before (ie, now having access to, and eating, things like strawberries year round) means our bodies are adapting to require things it didn’t before. I’m interested in how the body’s needs change over many generations as certain foods are introduced to populations. My Irish ancestors had a mainly potato diet for a hundred years due to being forced off their land so it was all they could grow so can I handle eating them better than others? Now native populations have the highest rate of type 2 diabetes in Canada because sugar was introduced to them more recently and several hundred years after the UK started getting it and it made them sick initially for several generations too (as seen in the rotten teeth of skeletons of that time), and people in the tropics always had access to sugar. I wonder if in another 100 years (or longer) Aboriginal Canadians will no longer have the high diabetes rate as their bodies will have adapted to the SAD diet by then. My theory on the Inuit back then and vit c is that they, like us all, are the same as Darwins Finches

  108. I don’t like beef liver taste either. But , over a week I can easily eat 2-3oz of it raw each day. It doesn’t taste good cooked. So , my eating it raw is just as good or even better. No cooking and it digests so much easier. If you ppl can put other terrible tasting things in your mouths , like medicines , then why not this? By the 7 th day it actually was alright , and milder.
